Good Balance, Right Perspective, and a Disclaimer
Before I begin sharing the practical stuff on this blog, I wanted to share a few more things as well as a disclaimer.
Disclaimer: I am not a medical doctor, and I have no medical training. The things I share on this blog are simple, practical things that I've learned help with good health.
This disclaimer will be at the end of every post on this blog. I don't want anyone reading this blog thinking that I have some kind of medical degree or training when I do not. I simply enjoy learning, and I enjoy passing along those things with others.
Below are a few more things I'd like to share in regards to health, namely, my personal view on health.
First, I'd like to share that I do believe in medical doctors. If you are someone who does not believe in medical doctors at all, then this blog is probably not for you. I thank God for medical doctors. We need them. I can't imagine what our world would be like without them! Doctors serve an important place and go through years of training before they become a doctor. Doctors are not perfect though. Doctors are human, and they can sometimes be wrong. Medical doctors are usually good at diagnosing a health problem.
If you are dealing with a serious health issue but don't know exactly what is wrong, please see a medical doctor or go to your local hospital to get checked out.
A natural doctor that I respect says something that I like:
"You are going to the (medical) doctor for the diagnosis!"
Once you have a diagnosis, then you can make a decision about what to do from there. Sometimes the medical route is the best option. Other times, a more natural route can be better. It depends on what you're dealing with.
I believe in both medical and natural. For practical, every day stuff, I go the more natural route! For a more serious health issue, I would definitely make a trip to the hospital! I try to have a good balance between the two. Both serve a good place, I believe.
And that brings me to my next thought about having a right perspective when it comes to health.
I've known people who have been so focused on health that it literally became an idol in their life. What do I mean by that? Health consumed them. It became their entire focus and goal in life. Please, don't do that. Please, keep God first in your life, and love Him as Deuteronomy 6:5 tells us to do.
We should be mindful and aware of things though; that is good, and that is the purpose of this blog.
