Coconut Water

The month of August is, usually, an extremely warm summer month in the United States.

I have no doubt that drinks sold in coolers sell very well during the warm summer months.

Here in the United States, gasoline stations, convenience stores, and grocery store coolers are usually filled with many different kinds of drinks for sale, such as: soda, energy drinks, Gatorade, iced coffee, iced tea, lemonade, juice, smoothie drinks, and the list goes on. (some are definitely better choices than others) Most of the places I mentioned also sell water which is one of the best things you can drink when it is so hot outside.

A common drink here in the United States is something called Gatorade. Gatorade has something called electrolytes in it. Electrolytes are something the body needs, especially when it is warmer outside and you are sweating more than usual. While Gatorade does contain electrolytes, sadly, it is not a very healthy drink. The second ingredient in Gatorade is sugar, not to mention all of the other not so great things in it. (like artificial food coloring which is so bad for you!)

Did you know that God created an all natural electrolyte drink?

I was surprised to discover this a few years ago.

What is that drink?

Coconut water!

If you enjoy coconut (like I do), you will likely enjoy coconut water.

Coconut water is naturally high in potassium and magnesium along with other healthy things our body needs. Coconut water has more potassium in it than a sports drink like Gatorade has.

Thankfully, you do not need to purchase and crack open a fresh coconut to enjoy coconut water. You can usually purchase small cans or containers of coconut water at your local grocery store. Even places like Walmart usually sell coconut water in their drink aisle.

For men who work long, hard hours outside in the summer time, sweating under the heat of the sun, coconut water is an amazing drink to help replenish what your body needs.

God, in His great wisdom, gave us everything we need, including a wonderful electrolyte drink in coconut water.
